NATURAL KNIT PERENNIAL RYE BLEND

New in our program is the Natural Knit spreading Perennial Ryegrass mix. Due to the “pseudo-stolons” of this turf grass, no netting is needed. It sets itself apart of the other Perennial Ryegrasses by its ability to withstand low mowing heights and the extreme density.

The grasses that flourish in the Willamette Valley, have a strong vertical root system. For a sturdy roll of sod however, a strong horizontal root system is required. T he solution is netting. After seeding the sod field, netting is installed and the grass plants grow into it. At harvest time and when installing the sod, the netting gives additional support to the root system. Instead of the more economical standard netting commonly used, we decided to install the high value degradable netting. According to the manufacturer, in about 5 years the netting will “disappear” which means a huge advantage for you.
